Brian Brobbey’s Training Status Raises Questions Ahead of Crucial Fixture
The status of Brian Brobbey’s participation in Tuesday’s group training session with Oranje remains uncertain. Only the initial fifteen minutes were open to the public, after which the KNVB (Royal Dutch Football Association) opted to draw special curtains at the AOK Stadion, shielding the session from prying eyes.
Previously, glimpses of training sessions could be caught through the windows, but coach Ronald Koeman put an end to this practice last week, resulting in the installation of curtains.
Similar to Monday, Brobbey participated in the warm-up session with the squad. However, on Monday, he proceeded with individual exercises and did not take part in the scrimmage. Whether the 22-year-old forward fully joined the group training session today remains undisclosed.
It’s been a week since Brobbey sustained a hamstring injury during an Oranje training session, causing him to miss the match against Poland. Koeman expressed optimism that Brobbey would recover in time for Friday’s crucial encounter against France.
Aside from Brobbey, there are no other injury concerns within the Oranje squad ahead of their second group stage match at the European Championship. All twenty-six selected players were present on the training field at the AOK Stadion on Tuesday.
Oranje has scheduled training sessions for Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Following Thursday’s session, the team will depart for Leipzig by bus, where they are set to face France on Friday at 21:00 CET.
